Become our brilliant new ESOL volunteer

Could you be our new ESOL volunteer?

We are looking for a friendly face to support sanctuary seeking families at our Play Project in Cardiff.

From our experience, mums can find it hard to access mainstream ESOL classes. The timing of classes and lack of childcare can create barriers to learning a new language. That’s where Play Project comes in – a place for sanctuary seeking families to get together, play, and learn in a supportive space.

Our teachers help mums practice English in an informal way while their children play together.

Do you have ESOL qualifications or experience? Great!

Are you happy NOT to deliver structured classes? Perfect!

Can you join us for Play Project on Wednesdays? Music to our ears!

We are looking for someone happy to chat with our mums, answer their questions, and build their confidence. Play Project is an interactive space for the whole family, so sometimes mums will need to look after their little ones while practising their language skills. To meet the needs of our mums, this opportunity is open to women only at present.

Does this sound like the perfect opportunity for you?

We’re hoping to have someone start volunteering early in the new year.
