Christmas Appeal: Supporting children and families to stay warm this winter

For sanctuary seeking and refugee families in Wales, the holiday season often brings tough choices: Heating or food? Essentials or a small gift for their children? While many of us are celebrating, some families are struggling just to get by.

At the Welsh Refugee Council, we work every day to support children and families who have fled conflict and hardship, helping them rebuild their lives. But this winter, the challenges are greater than ever.

Rising costs mean many families are facing a cold, difficult season with little to spare for basic needs, let alone Christmas cheer.

I'll help keep refugee children warm this winter

Your support can light up their winter

With your help, we can make sure no family has to go without:

🔥 Warmth: Providing heated blankets and winter duvets during the freezing months.

🥘 Food: Supplying hardship vouchers for nutritious meals so families don’t have to make impossible decisions.

🎁 Small Joys: Offering children a sense of normality with a simple gift or toy.

🏠 Safety and Support: Helping families access the services they need to thrive.

How You Can Help

➡️ Donate: Every pound goes toward essentials like heating and food for families in crisis.

➡️ Raise awareness: Share our campaign and inspire others to take action.

The families we support have already endured unimaginable hardships. This Christmas, let’s work together to ensure they have the dignity, warmth, and support they deserve.
