Hi I’m Kay!

It’s been a long road of learning from where I began as a Theatre Designer in London, to now Head of Business Development for Welsh Refugee Council.

I’ve had many adventures working in a range of diverse roles of Designer, Arts Management , Producer, Charity Director and Fundraiser. Tackling steep learning curves, and addressing many challenges, but being guided by some wonderful people along the way.

Moving from my home in London to Wales, by choice, was stressful enough.  I can only imagine the trauma of being forced to leave my home and escaping across borders, to save the lives of my children.  Yet I see extraordinary people every day in Welsh Refugee Council, who have made those journeys, rebuilt their lives and now do everything they can to help others.

At WRC, our Business Development Team are responsible for securing the resources that enable staff to deliver essential services for refugees and sanctuary seekers across Wales. As the demand for this vital work grows, so does the weight of our responsibility.

Every day is a reminder of how much there is to do and how privileged I am to work alongside such extraordinary people.
