Beth Kidd: WSS and Partnerships Manager

Hi I’m Beth, the Wales Sanctuary Service Programme and Partnership Manager (try fitting that on a business card!).

I coordinate a partnership of six organisations dedicated to providing vital support and guidance to asylum seekers across Wales. Leading a team of compassionate, diligent, and highly skilled caseworkers, I also serve as a Safeguarding Officer for the Welsh Refugee Council.

What I love most about working here is the diversity of each day. While some days can be challenging, the opportunity to make even small improvements in people’s lives keeps me motivated.

The incredible staff and the joy of sharing experiences and perspectives—often over good food—make this work especially rewarding.

Before joining WRC, I spent over 20 years in international development, including time working in Internally Displaced People’s Camps in Northern Uganda. Those experiences gave me an insight into the circumstances that force people to flee their homes, and I’m passionate about using that knowledge to help individuals navigate the asylum system here in Wales.

In my free time, I’m happiest in nature, watching the sun set and the stars emerge—ideally with a cold drink in hand!
