We are the Welsh Refugee Council
Croeso/welcome
For over 35 years, the Welsh Refugee Council has been empowering sanctuary seekers and refugees to create new futures here in Wales. We’re not just about providing support—we’re about co-creating solutions with those who need it most. By listening to their needs and working together, we build pathways that make a real difference.
Located at the heart of our communities, our hubs in Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, and Wrexham provide specialist support across Wales. We partner with a diverse range of local, voluntary, and statutory organisations to maximise our impact and ensure that those we work with have the resources to thrive.
Our Strategy 2023-2026"Welsh Refugee Council is the beginning of the end of the trauma. It is where the running stops and recovery starts."
This is more than just a statement; it’s a promise. We support sanctuary seekers and refugees at their most critical moments, helping them find their feet and begin rebuilding their lives in Wales. We’re here for the moments that matter.
With your support, we provide essential services: safe housing, employment opportunities, English language classes, legal advice, and access to vital community networks.
Together, we’re helping people overcome isolation, gain confidence, develop new skills, and find their voice to advocate for themselves and their communities.
Vision
Working together to create a Wales where sanctuary seekers and refugees are welcomed, respected, and empowered.
