Natalie Parrin
Hi I’m Natalie!
I’m a senior-level HR professional currently working within an arm’s length government body, where our teams collaborate closely with the NHS, academics, and businesses to drive innovation across healthcare. Our shared goal is to reduce pressure on the system by delivering practical, forward-thinking solutions that support both staff and patients.
Outside of work, I live in Cardiff with my daughter and our very energetic dog, who keeps me active and outdoors most weekends. I also love spending time with family and friends, soaking up those everyday moments that bring balance and connection.
Over the course of my 30-year career in Human Resources, I’ve built a broad base of experience across the private, public, and charity sectors. This has given me a deep understanding of the diverse challenges people face at work and in life. In my current role as Head of HR and trusted advisor to the CEO, senior leadership team, and Board, I focus on everything from organisational design and culture development to corporate health and safety, employment law, and leadership training. I’ve always seen HR as more than policies and procedures — it’s about creating fair, inclusive environments where people can thrive.
Fairness and equity have always been at the heart of my work. I’m also a trained Mental Health First Aider, and I’ve supported individuals through complex and often traumatic experiences. This part of my work is especially close to my heart. I believe deeply in the power of empathy, compassion, and timely support to make a difference during life’s toughest moments.
These values align strongly with the mission of the Welsh Refugee Council. WRC’s commitment to fairness, sanctuary, and support resonates with me both professionally and personally. My father migrated from Jamaica to the UK in the late 1960s, and growing up, I saw firsthand the challenges he faced — from exclusion to resilience, and ultimately to building a life in a new place. His story shaped my understanding of inclusion and continues to drive my commitment to ensuring sanctuary seekers have the support and opportunities they deserve.
Joining the WRC Board allows me to bring together my professional expertise and personal values in support of a cause I truly believe in. I bring a collaborative, compassionate approach and a track record of working closely with CEOs, senior teams, and Boards to navigate people-related challenges and drive positive organisational change. I’m honoured to be part of an organisation doing such vital, human-centred work, and I’m committed to playing my part in helping it thrive.
