Become a Trustee
You will be helping us and the sector to support those who are forced to seek safety. With over 35 years’ experience, we are trusted by the communities we serve and are seen as the lead organisation in Wales for asylum seekers and refugees. We are currently recruiting new members to join our Board of Trustees, a group of dedicated individuals who’s expertise and time help shape our future.
Job Title: Trustee
Remuneration: Reasonable expenses paid including travel expenses for office visits, conferences, or developmental activities.
Duration: We ask for a three-year commitment for all trustees to give us the stability and support to grow as an organisation.
Hours: Our Board meets four times a year. We operate a hybrid model for all meetings.
Location: Our main office is in Cardiff, where you will be required to visit on occasion throughout the year.
Purpose of the post
The Welsh Refugee Council plays a vital role in supporting sanctuary seekers and refugees to access services and advice across Wales. As a Trustee, you will provide guidance, oversight, and act as a critical friend to the Senior Leadership Team. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in HR, Commercial Business, or Finance. However, we welcome applications from any candidate with strong senior leadership skills and experience that meets our other criteria and who are passionate about our mission.
