Trustee Appointments  – Asylum Seeker & Refugee Representatives

Are you an asylum seeker or refugee?

Do you want to be a trustee of the Welsh Refugee Council?

Being a Trustee

We want more refugees to join our team of trustees on the Board.

You will bring your experience of being a refugee.  I’m sure that you will also bring valuable skills and knowledge.

Together, the trustees shape the way the Welsh Refugee Council works.  At our meetings, we make sure the charity uses its money in the best way.

We talk about the advice and support we give.  We hear about the needs of asylum seekers.  We discuss fundraising.  The trustees read reports and make decisions.  It is important and also very interesting.

You don’t need to have been a trustee before.  We will give you a lot of support and training to help you.

You will need to be comfortable using English in meetings, but perfect written skills are not necessary.

Trustees are not paid, but can claim expenses.
